All India Tourist Permit (AITP) – How to Apply and Renew

An All India Tourist Permit (AITP) lets your taxi operate in any state without separate state permits. It is ideal for outstation and tourist taxis.

Eligibility Your vehicle must meet the minimum engine capacity (e.g. 1400 cc for taxis in many states), have valid comprehensive insurance, a current fitness certificate, and paid road tax. The taxi should be used for tourist purposes.

Documents required You need the vehicle RC, insurance copy, fitness certificate, road tax receipt, and application form. Some states also ask for a tourist permit authorization letter.

Fees AITP fees vary by state. In Haryana, for example, the annual authorization fee for All India Tourist Permit is around ₹500, plus the base taxi permit fee. Total cost is much lower than getting multiple state permits.
